One-to-One

There is an option to see a Psychology Practitioner face-to-face in all GP practices across Wiltshire.

What is on offer?

The service is designed to offer short term psychological support focused on helping you move forward and will concentrate on steps that you can take yourself to tackle your difficulties. This can include many different options from sign-posting to other agencies to the support we offer directly.

How do I access the service?

Our services are available for anyone over the age of 16 who is registered with a GP practice in Wiltshire. Appointments with a Psychology Practitioner can be arranged through calling the Wiltshire IAPT offices; for appointments in North Wiltshire call 01380 731335 or, for appointments in South Wiltshire call 01722 820267.

What will happen at my first meeting?

The first meeting will be to discuss the range of options available to you. The Psychology Practitioner will ask you questions about your difficulties to help them offer the appropriate options. They will do their best to answer any questions you may have – it might be helpful to make a list of these beforehand and to have thought about what you hope to achieve from accessing the service. These appointments will last for a maximum of 45 minutes.

Are meetings confidential?

All personal information provided to the Trust is treated confidentially. There are, however, some important times when we will need to share information with others in order to optimise your care. It is the responsibility of all health professionals to share some information with your GP and possibly other health care professionals. This is particularly important if there is information which would help to prevent you from harming yourself or someone else.

All information is treated confidentially and the Psychology Practitioner will check anything with you which they think would be useful to share with other staff.
